Meeting was called to order by Jacqueline Hymes and 6:25 p.m.

1. Approval of June 28, 2005 Regular Meeting Minutes: Mr. Sells moved to approve; Ms. Hymes seconded the motion. Motion passed.

2. Employee/Community Comments: none

3. Secretary’s Report: Mr. Sells listed items received in packet which included the a copy of the July 26, 2005 agenda, copy of the June 28, 2005 minutes, Police Safety Dispatcher testing list, Police Officer 2005-2007 testing results, memo from Linda Fersch regarding the Planner Position, and the Public Safety Dispatcher Eligibility list.

A. Service Worker

1. Update: the position has been filled and will longer need any updates.

5. Eligibility Lists

A. Public Safety Dispatcher 1

1. Update: there were 80 questions on the exam and there were 53 candidates that took the exam. There were a total of 85 applicants and there were 32 applicants who did not show up for the exam.

Motion to certify the eligibility was made by Ms. Hymes and seconded by Mr. Sells. Motion passed

Motion to certify the top six candidates was made by Mr. Sells and seconded by Ms Hymes. Motion passed

B. Police Officer: There were 44 applicants and there were six no shows. There were 38 participants. 27 passed and 11 failed. You needed a 75% or greater to pass the test. They will be doing the physical fitness test on September 10, 2005 and then we will create an eligibility list upon the results of the written exam, physical fitness, military points, and auxiliary points.

C. Public Safety Dispatcher 2

1. Update: This is a promotional position for a Dispatcher 1. There is currently no update as we are not hiring for this position at this time. Linda stated that she would talk to the City Manager and Carolyn Sharp (Chief Dispatcher) to see what the status of the position is.

D. Planner 1

1. Update: Linda Fersch stated that we have received two applicants to date. We extended the deadline until August 15, 2005 to allow for a larger poll of candidates to select from. Linda also stated that she will be sending the posting to different area universities to have them post it on their websites. We only posted the position in the Columbus Dispatch.

6. Other Business

Motion was made by Ms. Hymes to change the August Meeting from August 23, 2005 to August 30, 2005. Mr. Sells seconded the motion. Motion passed
