REGULAR MEETING

7:30 P.M.

 

 

 

1.                  ROLL CALL.   Ms. Shankland called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. with roll call as follows:  Mr. Boetcher, Ms. Shankland, Ms. Phelps and Mr. Fox were present.  Mr. Campbell and Mr. Roberts were absent.  Mr. Roberts notified the clerk prior to the meeting of his absence.  Others present were Pickerington High School students, Steve Carr and Sandy Whittington. 

 

2.                  APPROVAL OF MINUTES of  February 24, 2003, Regular Meeting.  Mr. Fox moved to approve; Ms. Campbell seconded the motion.  Ms. Shankland, Mr. Boetcher,  Ms. Phelps, and Mr. Fox, voted  “Aye”.  Motion carried 4-0.

 

3.                  COMMUNITY COMMENTS. -  Ms. Phelps suggested that we show support for our troops by being a drop-off location for supplies needed by the troops.  The board agreed; Ms. Phelps stated that she would contact the American Legion. 

 

4.                  DIRECTOR’S REPORT.  -    ATTACHMENT I

 

 

5.                  NEW BUSINESS.   – Mrs. Shankland stated that she and Mr. Boetcher attended the March, Safety Committee meeting.  Mr. Carr stated that Mr. Roberts has submitted his letter of resignation, effective immediately.  Mr. Carr continued that the letter was sent to the Municipal Clerk and she will inform the Rules Committee and start the process to replace Mr. Roberts.  Mr. Fox stated that the process should move quickly because several people had already volunteered to serve on the Park Board.  Ms. Shankland noted that Ms. Phelps would also be leaving the board soon.

 

6.         OTHER BUSINESS

7.         COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE’S REPORT –  Mr. Fox stated that he has talked to the Safety  Committee and Ms. Bushman, encouraging them to move forward with the skate park project.  Mr. Fox  stated that this would be his last Park Board meeting, one of the new council members  will be appointed to the Park Board at the next  Safety Committee meeting.  

 

  1.       ADJOURNMENT – There being nothing further, Mr. Boetcher moved to           adjourn; Mr. Fox seconded the motion. The Meeting of the Parks & Recreation Board adjourned at 8:00 p.m., February 24, 2003.
