WORK SESSION

REVIEW OF SIGNAL PLANNING REPORT

5:30 P.M.

1.         ROLL CALL.  Mr. Hackworth called the Service Committee Work Session to order at 5:30 P.M., with Mrs. Hammond, Mr. Hackworth, and Mrs. Riggs present.  No members were absent.  Others present were Judy Gilleland, Lynda Yartin, Ed Drobina, Jennifer Frommer, Jerry Dailey, Scott Seaman, Sean Casey, and others.

Mr. Hackworth stated as there are two new members of the Service Committee, and there is a lot of information in this report, he felt this work session discussion would be of help to the entire Committee.

Ms Frommer stated she had provided the Committee members with a brief summary, with some attachments, of items to be discussed during the work session.

Ms Frommer reviewed the current Pickerington Traffic Signal System, the historical challenges the City has dealt with, and the Signal System Report of 2005 that had been distributed to the Committee members.

Ms Frommer reviewed the significant findings of the report and the recommendations of immediate, short term, and long term projects on the traffic signal system that could be implemented.

Ms Gilleland clarified that in comparison to other communities in the area the City is doing fairly well with traffic issues for the most part.  Ms Frommer stated the City is experiencing growing pains and the City’s signal system and hardware are doing a pretty good job.

2.         ADJOURNMENT.  There being nothing further, Mr. Hackworth closed the work session at 7:04 P.M., January 12, 2006.

RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED:
