PERSONNEL APPEALS BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2006

6:00 P.M.

 

 

1.                  ROLL CALL: Mr. Farrell called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.  Roll call was taken with Mr. Farrell, Marvin Sells and Jacqueline Hymes present.  No members were absent.  Others present were; Linda Fersch and Molly Schwartz

 

2.                  SCHEDULED MATTERS:

 

A.                             Motion to certify eligibility list for Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant/Recreation Coordinator:  Linda provided the members with a copy of each of their individual scoring as well as the overall scores tabulated with the final total.  Ms. Hymes stated on a couple of the applications they scored it would say “see resume” and the resume was not attached. Mr. Farrell stated he understood what Ms. Hymes was saying because on one of the applications he recalls lowering their score because there was not an attached resume.  The board requested copies of Scott Compton, Don Ross, Soo Henthorn, Patricia Olmstead and Lori Smith resumes.  Molly went and made copies of the requested resumes and a recess was taken so the board could reevaluate the applications.  Ms. Hymes decided to give Scott Compton and additional 50 points.  Mr. Farrell decided to give Don Ross an additional 25 points.  Ms. Hymes decided to give an additional 25 points to Soo Henthorn, Patricia Olmstead and Lori Smith.  This made the top six candidates Scott Compton, James Matuska, Fiona Spears, Christine Kelly, Sarah Potter and Don Ross. Motion to certify eligibility list for Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant/Recreation Coordinator was made by Ms. Hymes. Mr. Farrell seconded the motion.  Mr. Sells, Ms. Hymes and Mr. Farrell voting “Yea” motion passed 3-0.

 

B                   Motion to certify top six candidates for Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant/Recreation Coordinator:  Motion to certify top six candidates for Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant/Recreation Coordinator was made by Ms. Hymes. Mr. Sells second the motion.  Mr. Farrell, Ms. Hymes and Mr. Sells voting “Yea” motion passed 3-0.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.   ADJOURNMENT:    There being nothing further, Mr. Sells moved to adjourn; Mr. Farrell seconded the motion. Ms. Hymes, Mr. Farrell and Mr. Sells voting “Yea”. Motion passed 3-0. The Personal Appeals Board adjourned at 6:45 P.M., February 16, 2006.
