PERSONNEL APPEALS BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

TUESDAY, MAY 9, 2006

6:00 P.M.

1. Roll Call: Mr. Sells called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mr. Farrell, Mr. Sells and Jacqueline Hymes. Others present were: Linda Fersch and Molly Schwartz.

2. SCHEDULED MATTERS:

A. Deputy Municipal Clerk:

(1) Motion to certify top six qualified candidates for Deputy Municipal Clerk-Linda stated she would like to give the board members a few minutes to grade the twelve applicants. After a few minutes the board unanimously decided to take to applications home with them so they would be able to take their time in grading them. Motion was made by Ms. Hymes to table the certification of the top six qualified candidates for Deputy Municipal Clerk, Mr. Farrell seconded the motion. Roll call was taken with Mr. Sell, Ms. Hymes and Mr. Farrell voting “yea”. Motion passed 3-0.

(2) Motion to certify eligibility list for Deputy Municipal Clerk-Linda stated since the board prefers to take that applications home to grade them they should probably also table this item. Motion was made by Ms. Hymes to table certifying the eligibility list for Deputy Municipal Clerk, Mr. Farrell seconded the motion. Roll call was taken with Mr. Sells, Mr. Farrell and Ms. Hymes voting “yea”. Motion passed 3-0.

B. Finance Clerk 2

(1) Motion to approve job description for Finance Clerk 2-Linda stated she had revised the job description based on the boards comments. The board took a few minutes to review the revised job description for Finance Clerk 2. Mr. Sells asked if anyone has any questions or comments and the board members said no. Motion was made by Ms. Hymes to approve the job description for Finance Clerk 2, Mr. Farrell seconded the motion. Roll call was taken with Ms. Hymes, Mr. Sells and Mr. Farrell voting “yea”. Motion passed 3-0.

(2) Motion to advertise for the position of Finance Clerk 2-Linda requested the board to table this item until the next meeting. Motion to table advertising for the position of Finance Clerk 2 was made by Ms. Hymes, Mr. Farrell seconded the motion. Roll call was taken Mr. Farrell, Mr. Sells and Ms. Hymes voting “yea”. Motion passed 3-0.

3. ADJOUNMENT-There being nothing further, Mr. Sells moved to adjourn; Ms. Hymes seconded the motion. Roll call was taken with Mr. Farrell, Ms. Hymes and Mr. Sells voting “yea”. Motion passed 3-0. The Personnel Appeals Board adjourned at 6:45 P.M., May 9, 2006.
