COUNCIL RETREAT

4:00 P.M.

Council retreat convened at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at the Pickerington Public Library. The following council members were present: Mr. Sabatino, Mr. Smith, Mr. Fix, Mr. Wisniewski, Mrs. Hammond, Mr. Hackworth, Mrs. Riggs, and Mayor Shaver. Others present were: Judy Gilleland, Tim Hansley, Don Lacy, David Owen, and others.

Mr. Lacy gave a power point presentation on the purpose of a retreat and potential agenda topics.

Council discussed the “Food for Thought Questionnaire,” reviewed the Organizational Chart for a Community Strategic Planning Process, strategic positioning, “Lessons from Geese,” the Guide to Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct for Members of Public Sector Boards and Councils, a Council evaluation form, Council Member evaluation form, and a Guide to Rules and Procedures for Public Sector Boards and Councils.

Council reviewed a list of accomplishments over the last two and one-half years and discussed where they would like to go in the next ten years, and discussed how to formulate a vision statement for the community.

It was determined that all Council members would like to schedule another retreat sometime in early to mid-December 2006.

Council retreat adjourned at 9:00 P.M., October 17, 2006.
