REGULAR MEETING AGENDA

6:00 P.M.

 

 

 

1.         ROLL CALL.  Mr. Wagner called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M., with Mr. Wagner, Ms Dunn, and Ms England present.  No members were absent.  Others present were Linda Fersch, and Lynda Yartin. 

 

2.         APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF January 15, 2009, Regular Meeting.  Ms Dunn moved to approve; Ms England seconded the motion.  Roll call was taken with Ms England, Mr. Wagner, and Ms Dunn voting “Yea.”  Motion passed, 3-0. 

 

3.         EMPLOYEE/COMMUNITY COMMENTS.  None.

 

4.         PERSONNEL DIRECTOR’S REPORT.  Mrs. Fersch stated she had provided a written report and would answer any questions anyone might have.  Mrs. Fersch stated the board was also provided information regarding their duties as the Tax Appeals Board and Ms Dunn requested the rules established by the Tax Administrator be provided to them. 

 

5.         PERSONNEL ACTION:

 

A.        Review of revised Personnel Appeals Board Rules and Regulations.  Mrs. Fersch stated in the review of the Administrative Code Council placed the hiring procedures with the City Manager.  She stated the Personnel Appeals Board is now an appeals board and the PAB rules have been revised to reflect this.  Mrs. Fersch stated the PAB rules and regulations were provided to the Board for their review.  Mrs. Fersch stated if the Board agrees with the revised rules and regulations they will be forwarded to Council for adoption.  Ms England moved to approve the revised Personnel Appeals Board Rules and Regulations; Ms Dunn seconded the motion.  Roll call was taken with Ms Dunn, Ms England, and Mr. Wagner voting “Yea.”  Motion passed, 3-0. 

 

6.         ELIGIBILITY LISTS:

 

A.        Review and request for motion to extend eligibility list for Police Officers from January 22, 2010, to January 22, 2011.  Mr. Wagner stated if he understood it correctly, Mrs. Fersch was asking to continue this list and extracting the individuals that have been hired.  Mrs. Fersch stated that was correct and we did hire one officer recently, and Council authorized one additional officer this year but that will not happen until approximately March.  Mr. Wagner stated his only question would be by continuing this list for another year, how valid would it be because it seems some of these individuals would have taken positions elsewhere.  Mrs. Fersch stated some of the individuals do work as auxiliary officers until a position becomes available.  Mr. Wagner moved to extend the Police Officer eligibility list from January 22, 2010 to January 22, 2011; Ms Dunn seconded the motion.  Roll call was taken with Ms Dunn, Mr. Wagner, and Ms England voting “Yea.”  Motion passed, 3-0. 

 

7.         OTHER BUSINESS:  No other business was brought forward.  

 

8.         ADJOURNMENT.  There being nothing further, Mr. Wagner moved to adjourn; Ms Dunn seconded the motion.  Mr. Wagner, Ms England, and Ms Dunn voted “Aye.”  Motion carried, 3-0.  The Personnel Appeals Board adjourned at 6:32 P.M., January 21, 2010.
