PUBLIC HEARING

 

7:20 P.M.

 

1.         Call to Order:  Mayor O’Brien opened the public hearing at 7:20 P.M.

 

2.         Roll Call:  Roll call was taken with the following members present:  Mr. Barletta, Mrs. Hammond, Mr. Wisniewski, Mr. Blair, Mr. Sauer, Mrs. Sanders, and Mayor O’Brien were present.  Others present were: Bill Vance, Lynda Yartin, Chris Schornack, Chief Mike Taylor, Ed Drobina, Greg Bachman, Phil Hartmann, Joe Henderson, Nate Ellis, Janet Thiede, Carol Carter, Aaron Dean, Kevin Nolan, Bernie Fleming, Mark Heiner, and others. 

 

3.         Purpose of the Public Hearing:  Mayor O’Brien stated the purpose of this Public Hearing is to allow citizens a chance to voice any concerns and/or questions regarding the proposed Final Plat for the Zane Property located just north of the Pickerington Medical Complex along Hill Road North. 

 

4.         Presentation to Council:   Mr. Henderson stated the applicant is proposing the extension and revision of Lots 1 and 7 of the Zane tract commercial subdivision and staff has determined that the changes are minor.  He stated the developer is donating the 0.438 acre westerly extension of Commerce Drive and a 0.183 acre area of the McAuliffe tract adjacent to the existing Hill Road North right-of-way.  He stated this would basically widen the right-of-way from 40 feet to 50 feet on Hill Road North.  Mr. Henderson stated the plat revisions would increase Lot 7 from 1.532 acres to 1.326 acres and Lot 1 from 1.163 to 1.78 acres.   Mr. Henderson stated the City is vacating the road right-of-way on Old Route 256within the cross-hatched area of Lot 1 on the map; however, a 10-foot wide bike path easement is being reserved for the City. 

 

5.         Resident Questions/Comments: 

 

            A.        Mr. Mark Heiner questioned if there was a timeline identified for any construction and Mr. Bachman stated there is currently no construction planned.  Mr. Heiner stated he is the Assistant Commissioner of PYAA and his concern is about when the traffic signal will be turned on. 

 

6.         Council Comments/Questions:  Mr. Wisniewski questioned a bike path easement on a dead end road, and Mr. Bachman stated we were reserving this easement so eventually we can tie in with PYAA and the Melrose subdivision to Diley Road. 

 

7.         Adjournment.  There being nothing further Mayor O’Brien closed the Public Hearing at 7:25 P.M.
