PUBLIC HEARING

 

7:00 P.M.

 

1.         Call to Order:  Mayor O’Brien opened the public hearing at 7:00 P.M.

 

2.         Roll Call:  Roll call was taken with the following members present:  Mr. Barletta, Mr. Fix, Mrs. Hammond, Mr. Sauer, Mr. Wisniewski and Mayor O’Brien were present.  Others present were: Bill Vance, Lynda Yartin, Chris Schornack, Chief Mike Taylor, Greg Bachman, Joe Henderson, Scott Seaman, Gary Weltlich, Nate Ellis, and others. 

 

3.         Purpose of the Public Hearing:  Mayor O’Brien stated the purpose of this Public Hearing is to allow citizens a chance to voice any concerns and/or questions regarding the proposed rezoning and Final Development Plan for the approximate 5.82 acre Gillilan property from C-3 (Community Commercial District) to PC-3 (Planned Community Commercial District) located on the northeast corner of the Refugee Road and Milnor Road intersection.

 

4.         Presentation to Council:   Mr. Henderson stated the applicant is looking to basically split the parcel into five development sites.  He stated the rezoning is basically taking it from a C-3 to a PC-3, which does not change the uses that can be done on that parcel, but it does show the access to those parcels through the Development Plan.  He stated on June 14th, Planning and Zoning Commission approved the Final Development Plan and on June 22nd, it was approved by the Projects, Planning & Services Committee and forwarded to Council.  Mr. Henderson stated there are some issues with engineering and access that will be discussed at a later date and he understood the applicant was going to request this item be tabled this evening.  Mr. Vance stated this is basically just a subdivision of a commercial parcel.  Mr. Henderson clarified there are some concerns about stream water protection area on the rear of the site and the access drive on the rear.  He stated they would like to get those squared away before they move forward.

7.         Adjournment.  There being nothing further Mayor O’Brien closed the Public Hearing at 7:05 P.M.
