PUBLIC HEARING

7:15 P.M.

1. Call to Order: Mayor O’Brien opened the public hearing at 7:15 P.M.

2. Roll Call: Roll call was taken with the following members present: Mrs. Sanders, Mr. Fix, Mr. Blair, Mr. Sauer, Mrs. Hammond, Mr. Barletta and Mayor O’Brien were present. Others present were: Bill Vance, Lynda Yartin, Chris Schornack, Chief Mike Taylor, Greg Bachman, Joe Henderson, Ed Drobina, and others.

3. Purpose of the Public Hearing: Mayor O’Brien stated the purpose of this Public Hearing is to allow citizens a chance to voice any concerns and/or questions regarding the proposed amendment to Subsection 1286.34(b) of the Pickerington Codified Ordinances, entitled “Outdoor Service Facility Regulations.”

4. Presentation to Council: Mr. Henderson stated the proposal was to add the “M” district to districts where outdoor service facilities are allowed. He stated currently outdoor service facilities are allowed in C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, O, and 1. He stated we currently do not have any property zoned M-1 and the only industrial/manufacturing districts we have are zoned “M” so it is staff’s understanding this might have been a mistake that the “M” district was left out. He stated this came about with the flower stand on SR 256 and if this is approved, next year instead of requesting a councilmanic variance as they did this year, they would be required to go before the Planning and Zoning Commission for an Outdoor Service Facility that meets the regulations in this section of the Code. Mr. Vance clarified that would be for conditional use consideration.

7. Adjournment. There being nothing further Mayor O’Brien closed the Public Hearing at 7:18 P.M.
