Violet Baptist Church Volunteer Day, October 16th
Following up on last week's Community Volunteer Day, 30 members of Violet Baptist Church generously dedicated their morning to working with the VIP program. This week, we applied wood sealer to all the downtown benches; pruned trees at City Hall, and in Victory and Willow Pond Parks; divided and replanted perennials along E. Columbus St., and planted flowers at Simsbury Park. Thanks to the group's hard work, a LOT was accomplished in 3 hours. View our slideshow.

"Volunteering for something is the ultimate experience
in democracy. You vote in an election once a year, but
when you volunteer, you're voting every day about the
community you want to live in."
