New Police Chief

City Manager Frank Wiseman today announced that Commander Tod Cheney will be sworn in as the City's new Chief of Police at 3:45 p.m. on March 25th at police headquarters (1311 Refugee Road). Cheney replaces Michael Taylor, who retired February 19th.

Tod Cheney has been with the Pickerington Police Department since 1995. He served as a K9 officer for eight years, was promoted to sergeant in 2008 and to Commander in 2015. Cheney is a graduate of the FBI National Academy/University of Virginia, the Police Executive Leadership College and the Ohio State University Public Safety Leadership Academy.

"Commander Cheney has an outstanding record and impressive credentials. He is well known and respected in the community and we look forward to working with him in his new role as Chief of Police", said Wiseman.
