City of Pickerington

New Tenants

Welcome New Tenants!

Pickerington has a large number of retail, commercial, and office spaces located throughout the City. As the economy and properties change over time, business tenants can also change and require coordination with the City.

Before you start operating please be aware of the following:

  • Zoning Certificate for Change of Use/New Tenant - The Planning & Zoning Department reviews all new businesses and developments to verify that the use is permitted in the zoning district and is compatible with surrounding development.
  • Occupancy Permit - If no construction work is being done to the space, this permit can be issued as soon as zoning is approved. A certificate of occupancy will be issued after the building inspector conducts an occupancy inspection.
  • Building Permit - If any structural, electric, HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection work is being done to the space, a building permit is required. A certificate of occupancy will be issued after the construction work is complete and all inspections are approved.

Please refer to the new tenant permit process to get started.
